Universality of the Flood

Young earth author John Whitcomb speaks about the universality of the flood to prove that it was global in nature.  However, most of the evidence he uses also supports the old earth local flood scenario, and in some cases, it is a much better explanation.  Click here for the review of this Answers Magazine article from Answers in Genesis.

The Rightful Owner?

Tas Walker of Creation Ministries International writes in Creation Magazine that God is the rightful owner of the universe.  I agree.  However, if we do as Tas suggests, and compare the Bible’s claims (YEC) with science, then the result will not be good for the church.  Click here to read.

Sand Transported Cross Country

In the fourth installment of Andrew Snelling’s Flood evidences from Answers Magazine, he claims that sand that is transported cross country is evidence of Noah’s global flood.  He makes baseless claims that old earth geologists don’t have a clue about how geologic processes could have done it.  We do have many clues, but Snelling would only refuse to believe them.  Click here for the rebuttal.

Tas Walker of Creation Ministries International reports on a find of a herd from a single dinosaur species, that apparently was killed in one event, which he claims to be Noah’s global flood.  However, the evidence to support his claim is non-existant.  Click here to read the review of this claim.

Stone Blades

Brian Thomas of the Institute for Creation Research reports on the discovery of stone blades that date to 500,000 years ago.  This pushes the development of these blades back by 200,000+ years.  Does this mean that anthropologists are “frustrated” by this discovery, as Thomas claims?  Click here to read the rebuttal.

Ancient Oxygen-Rich Rocks

Apr 08

Scientists believe that the early earth, prior to 2.5 billion years ago, did not have an oxygen-rich atmosphere.  The Institute for Creation Research reported today that there is a recent discovery of oxygen-rich rocks from 3.46 billion years ago, and they claim this is proof that the earth always had an oxygen atmosphere.  Does this new find require scientists to now believe that the early earth had an oxygen atmosphere?   Click here for more on this issue.

Ancient Sea Level

Brian Thomas of the Institute for Creation Research thinks that recent evidence for a higher sea level in earth’s past supports the idea of a global flood.  He seems surprised that we now have solid proof of higher sea levels in the past, yet geologists have known this for many years.  Click here to read the rebuttal to this poorly researched article.

Today’s Answers in Genesis daily article by Gary Vaterlaus is about the apparent contradiction in the BIble concerning snakes eating dust.  While I agree with AiG’s answer to this issue, there are other points made in the article which are questionable.  To read the Answers In Creation rebuttal to this article, click here.

How Old is the Earth?

In a daily article from Answers in Genesis, Bodie Hodge asks the question of the age of the earth.  This article attempts to present evidence from the genealogies in the the Bible, and then it attempts to tear down old earth dating methods.  It is not effective in either.  Click here to read the rebuttal.

Brian Thomas of the Institute for Creation Research claims that feather-like fibers found on a non-therapod dinosaur damages the evolutionary claim that birds evolve from dinosaurs.  Not true at all, when you think about it.  Click here for the review.

Beneath the Cross

What is beneath the cross?  Andrew Snelling of Answers in Genesis answers this correctly, in that there are layers of sedimentary rock containing many fossils.  Whereas he sees this as proof of a global flood, the scientific evidence says otherwise.  Click here to read this article.
